Q. Where do the buses come from?
A. We hire 16-seater minibuses from Hounslow Community Transport.
Q. Who drives them?
A. We have volunteer drivers who have passed nationally recognised MiDAS courses.
Q. Can I go on a trip if I need a wheelchair?
A. Some of our drivers have undertaken accessibility training and a number of our trips can accommodate one wheelchair customer with a carer.
Carers travel at no cost.
Q. What if I am unwell and can’t take part even though I’ve bought my ticket?
A. We will try to be helpful in special circumstances, but to avoid making losses on the trip, money is refunded only if a replacement is found or the trip cancelled.
Q. How much are tickets?
A. The prices start at £6 for local trips, but a trip to the coast would be over £20.
Q. What about insurance?
A. All vehicles have comprehensive insurance for drivers, passengers and third parties. Hounslow Community Transport carries full public liability insurance cover for all visitors, volunteers and staff while on HCT buses. We have also taken out our own insurance to cover our public liability while our volunteers accompany passengers on our outings, in the case of accident.
We don't specifically require passengers to declare pre-existing medical conditions although it might be helpful for us to be made aware in certain circumstances. All passengers undertake trips at their own risk.
